![]() PresentationAs a leading government agency for international cooperation and development, France Expertise Internationale (FEI) engineers and manages projects on behalf of donors and bilateral and multilateral clients. International project consulting and engineering agencyFEI was founded on 1 April 2011 as a public agency[1] under the supervision of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs. It is the successor of an other entity, France Coopération Internationale.
Through its work on major projects, including some in areas in crisis, FEI has acquired sound know-how in project engineering and management. Our approach to our work is pluridisciplinary and multi-cultural.
Our actions are part of development assistance programmes, such as the Millennium Development Goals, and the fight against poverty. They are also aimed at coping with emergencies and promoting the production of public goods in the world.
FEI is part of a network of partners that can call on consortia of government agencies, administrations, as well as private sector corporations, consultancies and entities in France, Europe and other countries. FEI also represents France in the European Economic Interest Grouping Eunida, the “European Network of Implementing Development Agencies”.
With more than 25,000 consultant-days in over 50 countries (2010), backed up by a head office staff of 50, FEI uses several hundred experts, civil servants, public agents, private-sector consultants and employees from France, Europe and other countries.
FEI is not subsidised. It does business on market terms and uses a range of modern and competitive management tools and procedures. FEI is the second-ranking French agency (alongside AFD) accredited by the European Union for centralised indirect management of EU funds. |
